Vintage Treasure

Hello my Blogger friends!

Thought I might share my newest

treasure with all of you.

I wondered around the Estate sale

looking for

my usual favorites

(old quilts, vintage fabric, etc.).

Suddenly my attention was draw

toward this wood spice cabinet.

The price tag, $2.

My head started searching for ideas

of how/what can this be used for?

Surely, it would not be used for what

it was intented(spices)!

Oh look, some vintage hankies...I'll take 'em.

Wait, what's that I see?

Why it's an old wooden bobbin...I take that too!

Well, 20 minutes later, here I am,

standing in front of this spice cabinet.

I couldn't resist it's primitive charm.

I've got an idea!

The shelves on the inside could hold

spools of thread or craft paint.

Oh, the possibilities.

But 2 whole dollars. Do I dare?

I'll need to sand and paint it.

What color paint should I use?

Do I really need to start another project?

When I returned home with my

newly found treasures,

I noticed a makers mark and date

on the inside of the door.

Time to do a little research.

Turns out, these cabinets can be

somewhat valuble (over $100).

Maybe I'll just leave it in

the original condition for a while.

Busy morning.

It's been a very productive morning.

Coffee stained a batch of fabric for the Stup dolls I'm working on.

I love how Yummy the house smells  

while the fabric is in the oven.

 

And I finished sewing the binding on my 

Primitive little table runner. It turned out soo cute!

I love when everything goes so well.

The Farmhouse

Folks must have been a lot smaller many
 years ago!

I live in an old 4 bedroom Farmhouse 
in Michigan. 

The hardwood floors, arched doorways and country style charm are beautiful.

I love our old Farmhouse but I must say 
"the rooms are soo small".

The main floor is very spacious, with large rooms and high ceilings. 

Take a trip to the second floor and 
everything changes.

I have taken over two of the second floor bedrooms for my storage and sewing space.

One room houses all of my supplies and finished items and there is not nearly enough room for everything.

Room #1: This is a view of my craft room.

Room #1:  See the small doorway to the 
far left of the photo.
That's the closet, the doorway is about 3 1/2 feet tall and the  inside height is the same. 

Folk's must not have had as much stuff 
back then either,
cuz storage space in this house is tiny.

Room #2:  This a my actual sewing room.
It is a little larger than the craft room but that extra space is occupied by my ironing board, several bins of fabric and, of course, my comfy chair.
