Craft Show season.

Good morning!

Craft show season is in full swing
in these parts and I'm lovin it.
Went shopping at 3 shows
this past Saturday and there
are at least 2 more in the area
this weekend.

I was also a vendor at a show
a couple of weeks ago.
Here are a few photos of my booth
(they are a little blurry).

The show was a great success,
I'm so glad I decided to rejoin the
craft show circuit.

Here are some of the
Thanksgiving items that
are now available
in my Etsy store.

And some of the
Christmas items
that are available.

I will have many more
of the burlap banners
available in the coming days.

Thanks for stopping by.

Frustrated with Facebook

Do you have a Facebook fanpage?

I created a Facebook fanpage
a few years ago in effort to
promote my Etsy store.

I figured out the basics,
how to post comments, pictures, etc.

Here is my problem.
When I first created my fanpage
I could "Like" and comment
posts on other peoples pages but
my picture/avatar didn't
 appear next to my comments,
(the picture next to my comments was
a blue & gray generic silhouette of a
persons head...very unflattering don't ya think?)

Now, for some unknown reason,
I cannot even Like a post or
leave a comment.
I haven't changed any of my settings
and my fanpage is public.
I have tried using the
Facebook Help center
but nothing has worked.
to resolve my problem.

I have seen other fanpages that
have "Liked" and commented on
posts of my fanpage, so I know it's possible.

This is so frustrating!
What am I doing wrong?
Please Help!

Craft Show count down....

Yes, it's true....
I will be participating in a local craft show
is just 2 weeks.

I love going to the seasonal craft shows
and seeing all the handmade wares
but, am I the only one who is
discouraged by all the VENDOR's
at these CRAFT shows in recent years?

My mother and I used to do a few
annual shows every
year in the 1990's, with much success.
After a few years hiatus, we decided
to try a show in 2008.
Well, it was not what we expected.
The show had more vendors than crafter's.
The booth next to us was
actually selling bed sheets.
That's right, nothing handmade,
 just pre-packaged bed sheets.
Really!!!!!!!
Bed sheet, tupper ware, food vendors
and etc. belong in the flee-market circuit,
not at the craft shows.

OK, I'm done venting,
now for the important stuff.....

I will be at
St. Margaret of Scotland Church
in St. Clair Shores, MI
on Nov. 2 from 9am-4pm.

I have been a shopper at this show for the
past several years and they have a great
variety of crafters. This is their 35th annual craft show.

Here are a few of the new items that
I will have for sale at the craft show.

I am still working on many
other new projects and whatever
doesn't sell at craft show will
be available in my Etsy store.
Hope to see you there.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Goodies from my summer travels....

Finally got around to down loading
some of the pictures of all the goodies
I acquired during my summer travels.

Back in August, I took a trip to
West Virginia to visit my Dad.
A stop a The Woolen Willow in Williamston, WV
is a must for any quilter, wool lover
or primitive collector.
Here are some of the goodies I found
at The Woolen Willow

Some beautiful hand-dyed wool.

A little wood crate, vintage bobbin
and a rusty horseshoe.

A sweet mini charm pack by Moda.

A wood dough bowl and a burlap sack.

Then in the beginning of September
I attended the Harvest at the Mill
show hosted by Dawn and her team
at Holly Hills Primitives
in Holly, Michigan.
Just look at these treasures I found at the show.
Found this pumpkin and crock at the
Back Porch Antiques booth
(aka: Prims by the Water)
and the vintage scissors from
The Evening Stitcher booth.

Another prim pumpkin from
Back Porch Antiques
and some Hand-dyed orange wool
from the Wool Room.
The bowl is full of dried walnut
but I can't remember which
vendor I bought them from.

The awesome primitive drawer from
Prism Antiques.

A vintage wood rake from
Red Dog Antiques.
Can't wait until the next road trip.
Have a wonderful evening!

Harvest at the Mill pictures

Good morning!

I was lucky enough to attend the
Harvest at the Mill
show last Saturday and
Oh Boy did we have a great time.

We didn't want to miss out on any
treasures so we arrived at 10am
for the opening,
everyone else had the same idea
because there was
a line to get inside.

Dawn and her team at
Holly Hills Primitives
did a fabulous job hosting this show.
It was like primitive Heaven.

There were so many wonderful vendors,
antiques and primitive
goodies everywhere.
I was able to meet some
fellow bloggers too!

Here are some pictures for inside the vendors booths.

Country Primitives booth had these

Hmmm, where could I use these?

Just love the primitive sunflowers
in the shotgun shell bags
at Country Primitives booth...too cute!

Wish I had taken more pictures but,
I was so overwelmed by all the goodies,
I forgot to take the camera out of my bag.

Well, after 5 hours of shopping I felt like
we had seen everything.
It was truly a great girls day
out at the Mill.

Can't wait until next years show!

I'll share some pictures of
all the goodies I brought home
in my next post.

West Virginia here I come....

Finally taking a
long overdue trip to
visit my Dad
in West Virginia.

The car is packed and
ready to go at 5am tomorrow.
It's a long journey
but I just love traveling
through the mountains.

There's will be lots
of front porch sittin'
and sweet tea sippin'
in the next few days.

As always,
Planning on making a stop
at The Woolen Willow
in Williamston, WV.
I just love their shop

Oh Boy,
I can't wait to see what
treasures I'll find this time.

I'll be bringing some
wool stitching projects
along with me
to work on while I'm there.
The finished projects will
be listed in my Etsy store

Soldsie anyone?

I just read a news article
about a fairly new app
called "Soldsie".

It's a Facebook app
that allows you to sell items
through comments
on your fan page.
Looks interesting!

Has anyone out there
tried it?

Here is the link
